Magazines: Front cover practical project
RESEARCH
1.) National Geographic (specifically one with a bird): Focuses on life as a whole- ranging from plants to animals to politics to geography and history etc, could really do anything.
Nature (the nature magazine): Similar to National Geographic. Focuses on nature (..in the name), ranging from plants to animals. Could use this to present a collection of plants or a natural environment like a forest or perhaps animals living within that natural habitat.
The Architectural Review: mainly focuses on different architecture and the urban setting of society. Good for buildings and potentially smaller products/furniture?
2.)
PLANNING
1.) “Field Guide To The Birds of Mountainous Regions”
2.) The main cover image is a portrait of a bird, posing in its natural state, the lighting will be focusing on the front portrait of the bird whilst the backlight focuses on the silhouette of its form.
3.) “Learn Fascinating Bird facts” … “Discover Their Amazing Migrations”.. "Explore the Beauty of Their World Up Close"
4.) (I have no plain paper at home - I do have printer paper but my mum refused to let me use it for anything but printing, and the only scrap paper I could find without having to rip a notebook apart was this)
PHOTOSHOOT
1.) The picture will be taken within a bird enclosure of Yerevan Zoom on the 6th of April, the bird will be a white bearded vulture.
PUBLICATION TO BLOG EVALUATION
1.) Completed design:
2.) Two genuine covers that I had taken inspiration from:
3.) I do believe that the layout I replicated is accurate however I was unable to find and exact same font that The National Geographic within their magazines so I had to use one I’m found as close as possible to the one they used. I do think that my picture and phrasing and actual layout and background was of good quality and good standard and accurate since I used adobe photoshop in order to replicate the layout and background boarders etc.
4.) If I could improve the magazine cover, I’d work on a better font and try to find an available exact same font that The National Geographic uses, the font is called “geographic”.
