1.) The Hunger Games trilogy is deemed "controversial" due to it addressing media saturation, reality TV, celebrity culture and ideology, Lydia Kendall thinks film "Mockingbird" takes a further then in politics and exposes that media theory concepts can aid to unpicking radical politics and the truth.
2.) The Hunger Games presents the capitalist ideology to be dystopian and critical with extreme inequality and exploitation.
3.) The Hunger Games films could suggest that the media has strong influences over audiences due to its very dystopian narrative and a distorted narrative which suggests that the leaders (opinion leaders within the media) have strong dictating influences on audiences and those vulnerable to being gullible or perhaps more naive people.
4.) My opinion is that the media doesn't necessarily dictate peoples views however it can influence those vulnerable to being dictated into different opinions. I believe particularly very young and very old people are most likely to be vulnerable to this due to both their lacks of experience within (specifically) digital media and modern day technology.

1.) The four widely accepted ideology beliefs accepted in the western world are liberalism, democracy, rules of law and enlightenment thought.
2.) A free and healthy media landscape is a cornerstone of a functioning democracy, defined by its ability to act as a watchdog on power, provide reliable information, and reflect a diverse range of voices. Such an environment is characterised by independence from government or commercial control, economic viability, and high ethical standards.
3.) A healthy media environment is threatened by a combination of economic, political, and technological risks that are severely reducing media independence, pluralism, and safety, with global press freedom experiencing a "historic decline".
4.) I think that safeguarding in order to protect people in power is more considerably censorship rather than safeguarding since they usually censoring things in order to hide/protect (usually themselves).
Roles of Media in Democracy
1.) Media is important in democracy because it educates, informs and entertains.
2.) A free and healthy media landscape is filled with independence, pluralism, high standard journalists and impartial media outlets.
3.) A few risks however public service broadcasters are usually subdued to biases, impartial broadcasters in the UK are important sources of reliable and non-partial information and threats to broadcasters impartially have also been seen as an emergence of high opinionated.
4.) My opinion on how media can be regulated in order to protect democracy is through censoring public service broadcasting to have no biases, or perhaps all individuals within the media to have no biases and to just state the facts which would mean that audiences would not be influenced to support the opinion leaders opinion and they would be forced to come up with their own ideal.
